After successfully conclude the Mazar Project, nowadays the business unit Hidropaute is in charge of the construction of the Hydroelectric Project Paute Sopladora and the elaboration of the Final Studies of the last cascade central Paute Cardenillo.
The Paute Sopladora Project is located downstream the Molino Central and will collect the turbined water flows of up to 150m³/s, directly from the two discharge tunnels of the Central Paute-Molino, and will drive to the underground powerhouse through a system of a tunnel of pressure of 5.5 km of length and pressure pipeline.
Sopladora will have three generating units of Francis type, designed for a flow of 150 m³/s and a net height of 361.90 m. The Power of the Central is of 487 MW and will generate 2,770 GWh annually to the National Interconnected System. On October the 20th, 2010 was signed the Commercial contract with the Chinese Consortium Gezhouba Group Company – FOPECA S. A. (CGGC – Fopeca S. A.), in charge of the construction of the project.
The Project Paute Cardenillo will be developed directly downstream of the Paute Sopladora Central, with a direct connection between the two centrals, reason why the two centrals will use the same flows. It is estimated an installed power of at least 400 MW and 2,200 GWh. On December the 23rd, 2010 was signed the contract with the Consortium POYRY-CAMINOSCA for the execution of the studies of pre-feasibility, feasibility and final.
