SAFETY INSPECTIONS
In a monthly basis and in formats designed for this purpose are carried out safety inspections to identify risks, measure them, asses and correct; additionally with this information is compiled the annual program of labor risk prevention and of environmental impact.
The inspection to the maintenance includes filling the respective forms, verifying that the personnel is doing their activities according to the “Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations” and according to the Internal Regulation governing the Central; basically the audit includes:
• Use and quality of the protection equipment both individual and collective
• Observance of the working procedure
• Use of signs of information, warning and danger signing in the operation and maintenance
• Condition and attitude of the personnel
The prevention activities are complied with-in five action fields that are known as the Commissions of Management and include:
Medical Exams: They are held annually and the reason for the applied preventive health in the Workplace is to timely detect in advance any symptoms in function to the risk that are exposed the workers, additionally it is possible to know the metabolic problems and to establish dietary control set nutrition.
Physiotherapy: There is a database that helps to classify and establish trends in a graphic form and by working areas of the affections muscular skeletal that affects the personnel that work at the Central whether they are due to: sports, pathology, work, or other causes.
Water Quality Control and Chlorine Residual: The periodicity of the bacteriological analysis in the water treatment plant is determined in the base of the Ecuadorian Quality Norms; the control of chlorine residue is made daily.
Equipment Safety Stock: It is in function of the needs of maintenance, they meet specifications and international quality standards.
Audiometric Control: Is made annually to the exposed personnel, which permits to determine the adequate equipment for protection based in the levels of attenuation.
Phytosanitary Controls: In order to prevent microbial disease staff, is carried out periodically the inspection of sanitary installations and housing.
Practice of emergency plans for the case of landslides and fires with the Brigade of Firs Aid and Fire: The purpose is to keep educated and trained personnel to potential disasters that may occur.
Vehicle Review: Established within the Internal Regulation of Transport and that includes the vehicles that regularly circulate within the Central premises.
